The LED is an electronic component that, at the passage of a small amount of power, emits a light beam without infrared and ultraviolet lighting up immediately. The LED (Light-Emitting Diodes) represents the evolution of solid state lighting, in which the generation of light is obtained by semiconductors, rather than using a filament or a gas. The LED illumination is much more efficient from the energy point of view, has a much longer life and is especially much more sustainable, with a high eco-sustainability. Also allows creative and innovative solutions destined to lighting our houses, shops and cities. The LED lighting technology is destined, in the short time, to replace the traditional lamps.
Energy Saving
You can replace with LED lamps also fluorescent lamps (compact or neon) which consume much more energy than LED, with a consumed power (in watts) much lower, all this enables considerable energy savings.
Duration
The LEDs retain 70% of the light emission even after the initial 30,000 / 40,000 hours, according to the standard EN50107. This does not mean that go necessarily replaced after this period, you can safely use up to full brightness loss, estimated at 70,000 / 80,000 hours.
High Luminous Efficiency
The luminous efficacy of a light source is the ratio between the luminous flux and the input power. The unit of measure is expressed in lumens / watt. The luminous flux is defined based on the subjective perception of the human eye medium and corresponds to a particular curve within the spectrum of visible light. The efficiency of of an incandescent lamp is around 13.8 lumens / watt. The halogen can be up to 20 lumens / watt, and can easily exceed the 50 in fluorescent bulbs, or the so-called "energy-saving", while the LED lamps can achieve even higher efficiencies (up to 120lm / w). A light bulb emits radiation also outside the visible band, typically in the infrared and the ultraviolet, which do not contribute to the sensation of brightness. A lamp has a higher luminous efficiency as much as it is capable of emitting a spectrum suitable for human perception.
Currently the LEDs have a luminous efficiency up to 120 lm / W compared to:
13 lm / W incandescent lamps
16 lm / W for the halogen
50 lm / W for the fluorescent
Does not pollute and does not contain dangerous substances
The LED contains silicon powder, does not contain noxious gases to the health and has no toxic substances, unlike the fluorescent lamps and discharge lamps (metal halide and sodium vapor). Total absence of light pollution; the LED shines, but not saturated the environment. Zero emissions of UV rays (ultraviolet) that in general are harmful to humans for long exposures in time. Zero emissions also of rays I.R. (infrared radiation), harmful to the eyes to direct exposures. These emissions are very harmful for the trade of textile and leather, these materials are very sensitive to UV rays. The loss of color brilliance and sclerotherapy of materials, particularly natural and therefore more precious, are often the inevitable result of a long exposure to artificial light: one more reason to use the LED lighting for business premises.
LEDs do not emit hot light
LEDs generate heat, but retain inside them, in fact, the casing is able to control the heat generated and to dispose of it towards external heat sinks. The power used is so used at the best lighting, maximizing efficiency. The average temperature rarely exceeds 50 °. The LEDs can therefore be installed in contact with wood, plastic, and all those materials that fear the excessive heat. May prove substantial savings in air-condition a very illuminated: in fact, an incandescent lamp or halogen lamp produces a significant amount of heat dispersed in the 'environment and normally, when performing the calculations for the design of an air conditioning system, is considered as a heat source from breaking down of about 75 W. the equivalent source of light, but LED, is evaluated with redundant margin to about 15 W.
No maintenance
The maintenance costs of the apparatuses of LED lighting are estimated in the order of a hundredth compared the sodium facilities currently in use, then practically zero.
Compatibility with all plug connections
The types of LEDs on the market are compatible with size / attack / supply voltages existing: just unscrew and screw, slide out and slide in place of the other lamps.
